Those of you familiar with the Vampire Lestat will probably know who Memnoch is, for those that don't and are not interested in reading any of Anne Rice's vampire novels here is a little synopsis.

The Vampire Lestat - monster, outside, hero-wanderer - is snatched from this world to face his most extraordinary adversary ever in Anne Rice's darkest and most daring novel to date. His guide - Memnoch, The Devil, who takes him on a tour of Creation and leads him into the mythical worlds we must all one day confront - the very realms of Heaven and Hell.

And so it is in Memnoch, The Devil, that Anne Rice introduces us to a very misunderstood 'fallen' Angel. One who thought that Gods 'stand-back-and-let-em-do-it' attitude was all wrong and wanted to help humanity, he is not as much the Great Adversary, more like the Great Alternative.

So why memnoch0? Well through these pages I hope to show that I don't prescribe to the 'normal' way of doing most things. I use the word normal to mean the current popular thought of the world, and this can change, so can what is normal.

To me memnoch stands for a freedom that we can very rarely see exists, therefore we every rarely see we constrained in the first place. Please note that it does not have a capital letter!

And so I must offer my thanks to Anne Rice for showing me, and giving me a name for, the same thing but an alternative same.
